 Brothers,

We will be holding our traditional Friday Fish Fry events on a Drive-Thru basis starting on the First Friday of Lent, (Feb 19th) and continuing for six weeks, ending on March 26th.  This is our major fundraiser for our Council which we use for charitable purchases.

We need your help!!!

Please consider assisting with the Fish Frys once or twice this year.  If every Brother assisted a minimum of once this Lent, we would be fine .  Truthfully, it's still the 80-20 rule.  20% of the people do 80% of the work and most of the 20% are retired.  The Big Brother organization's former slogan was "He's not heavy, he's my brother".  As we age however, you will find out that your Brother can be a tad overweight.

Enclosed is a sign-up sheet for the six wednesday and friday events.  Please initial at least one date that you would be willing to assist your Council and any comment that you would care to offer.

Please email your response to Greg mayer at GTMDLM2@msn.com.  You can call me with any questions at 480-276-6268.

Vivat Jesus!

 Brothers,

The February 27th Raso Agency webinar is quickly approaching.  Make sure you, your Brother Knights and your fellow church parishioners have the opportunity to listen to best selling author Joe Jordan speak on the topic of intergenerational wealth.  The attached flier has been updated with a simple web address that can be used to register.  Pre-registration is required.  Post this flier in your online and printed Sunday bulletin, facebook pages, council websites and church bulletin boards.  Remember, if your council participates in the webinar it will count towards your Star Council insurance benefits requirement.  If you have any questions, contact myself or your insurance field agent.

As listed in the flier, the address to register is https://www.azknights.com/event/

Ohio bishop asks for prayers for protesters who disrupted Respect Life Mass

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Several women protesting the Catholic Church’s
teaching against abortion disrupted an annual Respect Life Mass being
celebrated by Bishop Robert J. Brennan at a downtown Columbus cathedral.

The protesters, which a video posted by The Columbus Dispatch showed
to number about seven, stormed into St. Joseph Cathedral during the liturgy
Jan. 22 and marched through the sanctuary. They shouted that abortion
was under attack and carried cardboard signs with messages supporting abortion.

Police and diocesan officials escorted the women out of the cathedral without
incident. No arrests were made.

Brennan thanked police officers for their quick response to restore order in
a statement released after the Mass, which commemorated the 48th anniversary
of the U.S. Supreme Court decision in Roe v. Wade that legalized abortion.

“I want to express my great admiration and thanks to all those attending the
Mass whose respectful and prayerful response reflects the joy, hope and mercy
that marks our pro-life witness. I also apologize to the families present whose
children were exposed to this,” Brennan said.

“On this day, in remembrance of the Roe v. Wade Supreme Court decision, I ask
all to continue to pray for the unborn who died, for all those who have experienced
the pain of abortion and for those who cannot understand our divine and steadfast
calling to champion this cause,” the bishop also said.
